Child welfare and safeguarding
At CSA 07 FC we take the welfare of all children at our club incredibly seriously. We want every child to feel safe and comfortable whilst playing or training with us.
Whether you are a young player, referee or volunteer helper you are assured that CSA 07 FC insist on the highest levels of respect across our club and also from visiting clubs and teams.
It is our utmost priority that all children are treated fairly and protected from all forms of misconduct (including abuse of any type).
We support 100% the FA Respect program.
CSA 07 FC's Child Welfare Officer (CWO)
For the 2023/24 season, the club has a new Child Welfare Officer, Henley Sargeant, who is our main point of contact for all welfare issues.
Henley has passed the FA criminal records check (DBS) and has completed the Safeguarding Children Workshop and Welfare Officer Workshop. Any player or parent / guardian can contact our CWO directly if they have any concerns.
All of our managers, coaches and match-day managers are all DBS checked and are familiar with the Safeguarding Children policy and procedures for reporting a concern about the welfare of a child.

Child Welfare Officer
Report your concerns
If you are worried about a child it is important that you report your concerns – no action is not an option. Follow the steps below.
1. If you are worried about a child then you need to report your concerns to the Club Welfare Officer.
2. If the issue is one of poor practice they will either:
- Deal with the matter themselves or
- Seek advice from the Hampshire FA Welfare Officer
If the concern is more serious – possible child abuse – where possible contact the Berks & Bucks FA Welfare Officer first, then immediately contact the Police or Children’s Services
4. If the child needs immediate medical treatment take them to a hospital or call an ambulance and tell them this is a child protection concern. Let your Club Welfare Officer know what action you have taken
5. If at any time you are not able to contact your Club Welfare Officer or the matter is serious then you can either:
- Contact your Berks & Bucks FA Welfare Officer directly -
- Call The FA/NSPCC 24 hour Helpline for advice on 0808 800 5000
- Contact the Police or Children’s Services
In addition, children should also know that they can contact ChildLine on the number shown above if they would like to discuss any worrying situation in a confidential way.
